Manatee Springs to the Gulf
October 20-22, 2011

We will pick up the "Paddle Florida"
participates at Manatee Springs, early
Thursday afternoon. We would like for the
people who are just doing the "Finish the River"
event to meet us in the town of Suwannee,
by 10:00am, at the latest, on Thursday,
October 20th. If you would like to spend the
previous night in Suwannee, we have a 3 bedroom
rental apt. available for $30.00 per bedroom. Two rooms have
a double bed and one room has a single, plus there is a futon
couch in the living area. Or you can meet us at Manatee Springs at 1:00pm.

You can leave your car in Suwannee at 10:00am, and we will transport you
and your equipment to Manatee Springs. This shuttle is no charge and no
parking fee. If you need to meet us at Manatee, there will be a $15.00 and
$5 per boat shuttle fee to return you to Manatee at the end of the trip, or a
$20.00 and $10 per boat shuttle fee to take you back up to the Spirit of the
Suwannee Park. Arrangements can also be made to leave your car in Suwannee
and be shuttled to the start of "Paddle Florida" at a minimal fee.

Russ and Kay McCallister, Suwannee Guides & Outfitters, invite you to join them for "Finish the River", which is a continuation of "Paddle Florida" which finishes Thursday Oct 20 at Manatee Springs. Finish the river will take place October 20 - 22. You will spend two more days on the river, from Manatee Springs to the town of Suwannee, where the river meets the Gulf.

Not part of the Paddle FL group - No problem - you can still join us for this 3 day event.

Trip details:

After your final lunch with Paddle Florida, at Manatee Springs, the group will paddle another 9 miles to Fowler's Bluff. This is the last camping area before you are surrounded by the Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge. At Fowler's Bluff we will set up our tents at the "Treasure Camp". Here you will have a full serve restaurant and general store for any resupply needs. Dinner and drink will be "pay as you go", with the same set up for Breakfast. Missy and her staff will pack you a nice lunch of the final leg of the Journey, which is a 13 mile paddle including the back creeks of the Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge, ending in the town of Suwannee. We will end the trip on Saturday afternoon, at Anderson Landing River Camp, in Suwannee, followed by a relaxing deck boat trip into the Gulf of Mexico. Dinner will again be Dutch treat, at one of the two local restaurants. On Saturday morning, we will shuttle those who need a ride to the Spirit of the Suwannee, while the rest are on their own to explore the area, and head home.

You can meet us in Suwannee, prior to Paddle Florida, and Suwannee Guides and Outfitters will shuttle you to the Spirit of The Suwannee, so you can begin your adventure with Paddle Florida, and continue to Suwannee, where your car will be parked at their rental house. Or, if you choose to leave your car at Spirit of the Suwannee or Manatee Springs, we will shuttle you back there at the end of the trip.

Cost - $60.00 per person, which includes 2 nights of camping, a guided trip through the back creeks of the Suwannee Delta to the town of Suwannee, and a Sunset Pontoon Boat Cruise to the Gulf. Your food cost will all be "Dutch Treat".
